ClimCom – Climate Communication

International Summer School for Multipliers on Communication of Climate Change Impacts, Poverty Reduction and Alternative Energy

In ClimCom, a series of 3 blended learning summer schools will be offered to a wide range of European multipliers and local authorities. At least 80 participants will participate in the summer schools which will consist of a 20 day face-to-face period that is embedded in a total of 5 months e-learning split up in two phases. For the blended learning, 120 modules will be developed and throughout the cycles replenished by 120 Learning Materials. In the summer school cycles, participants will acquire knowledge and skills on the complex and interrelated issues of climate change, energy and poverty, as well as their impacts such as forced migration, violation of human rights and vulnerabilities for developing countries.

Essentially, they will acquire the competences necessary to communicate these complex issues and the respective complicated problem items, thus empower themselves in their role as leaders and multipliers. The e-learning and face-to-face sessions consist of modules that are to be developed, revised and used throughout and beyond the action. The specific objective of the action is thus the increased knowledge transfer of poverty and development issues through new media and communication channels and informal learning arrangements (competence development) by leaders and multipliers to their peers and final beneficiaries across Europe.
